Last Sunday my sister, Grace, and I went hunting for alleyways to do our photoshoots for my blog and her photography portfolio. We found these amazing graffitied walls in the middle of Civic in Canberra.
Because the location was pretty busy with people going about their business I only had the courage (or lack of dignity) to get changed once in public so we only did two looks out of the five we had planned. We decided to make up for it by going to dinner at the new Jamie’s Italian Restaurant Canberra which opened up a few weeks ago. We tried getting a table two weeks prior but the wait was two and a half hours and it was already 9pm at that stage. They are completely booked out for weeks, however they save seats for ‘walk-ins’. We managed to get a table after waiting only forty minutes and a few glasses of wine later! The food was pretty amazing and the experience lived up to my expectations. Tip: the Arancini balls were to die for! =)
This dress is Graces and was perfect for this graffiti backdrop we found. I hope you love these photos as much as I do. Grace is such a natural photographer and I’m so lucky she’s my sister!
I helped my sister plan her look for her year 12 formal a few weeks ago. We weren't going for the "old Hollywood glam" look, it just kinda happened. And I'm so glad because she looked absolutely, stunningly gorgeous! I have four sisters and Sarah has a more punk/edgy style than the rest of us. We're a lot more girly with our style. I wanted to find accessories that would show her edgy style but also put her a little out of what she'd normally wear for shock-value. I think we pulled it off!
Sarah chose the dress from Nasty Gal and I wasn't convinced by the online photos that this was the right one for her. I found a dress from Asos which I thought would look perfect on her but when the Nasty Gal dress arrived and it was tried on it was 100% the dress, no doubts about it!
The edgy accessories were these chunky black stilettos from Betts, chunky yet blingy earrings, chunky id bracelet and chunky snake skin box clutch all from Collette by Collette Hayman which complimented the dress and Sarah's personality perfectly!
I also did her make-up which looked impeccable if I do say so myself! Although I can never manage to do my own make-up even half as good as what I did on Sarah!
I love a bargain and when I saw this beautiful floral crop top for only $25 I just knew I had to have it! Check out the Lookbook Store as they have a lot of great stuff for extremely good prices! The shipping can take a while though (mine took approx. 3 weeks) so keep that in mind.
My sister and I scouted this awesome location in the back alleys of Civic in Canberra. The colours are vibrant and fit perfectly for this outfit shoot on first day of summer here in Australia! Summer is my favourite season. Bright colours, tanned skin, sandy beaches, refreshing drinks, chill music and long hot nights. What's not to love!
